Storytel’s Arabic audiobook titles seen to increase by over 600 after partnering with Dar El-Shorouk

Ties expected to provide variety of Arabic audiobook collection

Dar El-Shorouk’s publications to be available on Storytel platform in First Quarter of 2019

UAE, December 23, 2018 – Storytel Arabia, the newly-launched division of Europe’s leading platform for audiobooks, recently entered into a partnership with Dar El-Shorouk, one of the most prominent and prestigious publishing houses in the Arab world, as part of its ongoing bid to increase its catalogue of Arabic audiobooks to cement its market presence in the region.

In line with the agreement, Dar El-Shorouk will provide Storytel Arabia with a license to produce the audiobook editions of Dar El-Shorouk publications. The latest collaboration is a major boost to Storytel’s efforts to increase its market share by connecting to more Arab-speaking readers. Following their cooperation, more than 600 Arabic titles are expected to be added to Storytel’s existing collection of 1,000 Arabic audiobooks.

ADNEC and Abu Dhabi Convention Bureau

collaborate to attract key conferences to the capital

Abu Dhabi, December 06, 2018 – Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC) and Abu Dhabi Convention Bureau, a division of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) have teamed up to win bids to host four leading international conferences in Abu Dhabi – all of them being held in the Middle East region for the first time. These wins, for the World Congress of Nephrology, the Annual Conference of the International Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Diabetes (ISPAD) Congress, the International Baccalaureate (IB) Africa, Europe, Middle East Global Conference, and the XIV World Association for Psychosocial Rehabilitation (WAPR) World Congress – will contribute to enhancing Abu Dhabi’s growing reputation as a global health and education hub. Securing these significant conferences will also support the Abu Dhabi government in its efforts to further develop these sectors, which have been identified as key development areas in the Abu Dhabi Vision 2030 roadmap for the future.

 UAE, November 11, 2018 – The third China-UAE conference on Islamic Banking and Finance (CUCIBF III) concluded recently, with the participation of leading economic experts, bankers, decision and policy makers, investors and Islamic economic stakeholders, who hailed Dubai’s great strides in becoming a global capital of the Islamic economy. The conference featured a series of in-depth discussions on the prospects of the participatory economy and the financial system from the perspective of growth, development and integration, highlighting the importance of joint efforts between the UAE and China to meet the emerging challenges, to enhance the role of Islamic finance in achieving the objectives of the ‘One Belt, One Road’ initiative.  UAE, 29th October 2018 – Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU) announced the completion of preparations for the launch of the China-UAE Conference on Islamic Banking and Finance (CUCIBF III) for the third consecutive year under the theme, ‘The potential for participative economy and financial system: growth, development, integration, and cooperation.’ The conference, set to take place on November 7 and 8, 2018, aims to strengthen knowledge, civilizational, cultural and economic exchanges with China. The event is a major milestone in the consolidation of efforts to support Islamic financing between the UAE and China, highlighting shared interest of both parties to employ Islamic economy model to achieve the objectives of the ‘One Belt, One Road’ initiative in resuscitating the global economy and direct it to serve comprehensive and sustainable development. University students display their innovative sustainability, energy & recycling projects at WETEX 2018

Dubai, UAE, 24 October 2018 – Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has set up a ‘Green Week’ corner and ‘Innovation Hall’ for students at the 20th Water, Energy, Technology, and Environment Exhibition (WETEX 2018). The exhibition is being organised by DEWA from October 23 to 25, at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC). Both areas are showcasing projects by students from a number of schools and universities in the fields of sustainability, energy, and recycling, engaging them in sustainable development efforts and keeping them updated on the latest developments in energy, water and environment sectors. This is in line with DEWA’s vision to be a sustainable innovative world-class utility and is part of its efforts to promote the spirit of innovation and creativity among students.

Green Week and Innovation Hall attracted many visitors during WETEX 2018, who interacted with the students about their ideas and future projects that will contribute to sustainability and conservation of the environment, renewable energy and green technologies.
